In Marella Explorer's Squid and Anchor bar, extensive work was carried out to enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The flooring was updated with new textile-backed carpet and underlay, following a thorough preparation of the surfaces, including cleaning and replacing any damaged sections of gripper rods. Special attention was given to ensuring that all seams were heat-seamed and edges sealed to prevent fraying. Additionally, a variety of handrails were installed for improved safety, with new handrails fitted to steps and raised areas, ensuring secure and stable access. Electrical updates included the installation of LED stair nosings, which required careful positioning, wiring, and sealing to provide a sleek and functional lighting solution.
In terms of finishes, the Gin & Whiskey area received a fresh look with the installation of Muraspec vinyl-backed wall coverings, which were meticulously applied to ensure a smooth, seamless finish. Other improvements included the application of paint to skirting boards in specified areas, as well as the installation of stainless steel corner trims and skirting on bulkheads and columns to enhance the area’s modern aesthetic. All work was carried out with a focus on quality and attention to detail, ensuring that both the structural integrity and visual appeal of the Squid and Anchor areas were greatly enhanced
