The Casino Royale expansion aboard Harmony of the Seas represented one of the most ambitious interior refit scopes Trimline has undertaken within a single venue complex. The project required the full removal of existing ceiling structures across more than a thousand square metres of interconnected spaces — encompassing the former Comedy Club, Entertainment District, Diamond Club and Jazz Club — to open the way for an entirely reimagined casino floor. New structural groundworks were welded directly to the ship's structure before the installation of a fresh, coordinated plank ceiling system, delivering both visual continuity and the robust performance demanded at sea.
At the heart of the expansion sits a newly designed central bar, complete with a bespoke ribbed bar fascia incorporating integrated gaming machines, a custom stainless steel back bar carcass, and concealed linear lighting throughout. A striking cashier's cage — featuring custom fretwork screens, a precision-cut stone counter top with bevelled detailing, and an electronically operated roller shutter — anchors the operational core of the space, while purpose-built back-of-house furniture ensures an efficient and well-appointed working environment for the cashier team. Decorative dice-effect screens and fixed banquette seating at the dividing screens add characterful detailing that speaks directly to the casino's identity.
The flooring scheme was executed across the full expansion footprint, with carefully selected field and mosaic tiles laid to the designers' intent across the bar, lounge, and entry atrium zones, set on prepared screeded substrates for a level, long-lasting finish. Column casings were clad throughout the central bar and atrium areas to tie the new elements cohesively into the surrounding architecture. Existing seating was professionally reupholstered to align with the refreshed design language, while new decorative architectural lighting features, wall sconce lamps and a fully updated AV and data infrastructure completed the transformation.
The result is a cohesive, high-energy casino and lounge environment that makes confident and considered use of every square metre — delivering the elevated guest experience expected aboard one of the world's most celebrated cruise ships.
