LIBERTY OF THE SEAS - Casino Royale Modernisation

The Casino Royale aboard Liberty of the Seas underwent an extensive modernisation as part of the vessel's 2026 drydock programme. Trimline delivered a full transformation of the space, encompassing structural, electrical, flooring, and joinery works across both the main casino floor and its associated refresh and expansion areas. The scope was carefully coordinated to minimise disruption whilst achieving a thoroughly renewed environment befitting a flagship entertainment venue.

At the heart of the project was the complete overhaul of the casino's ceiling and soffit arrangement. Existing ceiling tiles and cold cathode neon tubing were removed and replaced with seamlessly finished curved and elliptical marine GRG soffits, whilst the lighting infrastructure was entirely upgraded to contemporary LED systems throughout — including new soffit lighting, stair lighting, and general ambient fittings across multiple zones. The fire detection, general alarm, emergency lighting, sprinkler relocations, and UPS power distribution were all reconfigured in line with the revised layout, ensuring full compliance with the updated design.

On the floor, nearly 900 square metres of carpet and underlay were installed across the casino and its stairways, laid traditionally over tack strips with fully heat-seamed joints for a refined, durable finish. New floor screed was applied at the entrance bar and across select areas to provide a level, high-quality substrate. The installation of 199 custom-fabricated slot machine bases — together with the fitting of owner-supplied slot machines — gave the gaming floor a cohesive, purpose-built foundation, complemented by the design and installation of multiple pit podiums complete with deck penetrations and dedicated power and data runs.

Finishing works included the renewal of bar fascia panels and foot rail, a refreshed cashier's cage front counter, the removal and relocation of existing artwork, and the installation of new safety signage throughout. The result is a revitalised Casino Royale that combines a polished aesthetic with robust, properly engineered infrastructure — delivering an elevated experience for guests and a venue equipped for years of service.
