Trimline was tasked with the comprehensive outfitting of the Beauty Salon aboard the Aroya cruise ship, under contract to MJM Marine. The project included significant demolition and removals, including the dismantling of ceilings, bulkheads, doors, flooring, and wall finishes. These were replaced with new, high-quality materials and finishes designed to meet the specific requirements of the salon's aesthetic and functional needs. The removal of existing floor coverings and ceiling panels was followed by the installation of new floors, ceilings, and bulkheads to transform the space.
The ceiling was fitted with a combination of inset plank tiles and GRG (glass-reinforced gypsum) panels to create a luxurious and durable finish. Custom bulkheads were also installed, including solid core B15 panels, to support the new design layout and ensure safety standards were met. The Beauty Salon's distinctive features included the installation of new doors, with glazed entrance doors, bulkhead divider screens, and specialised B15 doors for the preparation room, further enhancing the space's functionality.
In terms of furniture, Trimline installed bespoke pieces such as banquette seating, manicure tables, product display units, and specialised hair stylist units. These pieces were tailored to the salon’s design specifications, ensuring both functionality and luxury. The furniture installation also included a dedicated preparation room with custom cabinetry and fixtures. Throughout the process, careful attention was paid to the fine details, ensuring each item was properly installed, cleaned, and protected during the process.
The project also involved extensive electrical and lighting work, with the installation of a variety of lighting fixtures, including ceiling lights and LED strips. These were installed according to the designer's specifications and integrated with the overall layout. Additionally, plumbing and pipework were carried out to accommodate the new fixtures, ensuring a seamless integration with the ship’s infrastructure. Trimline's work on the Beauty Salon reflects their expertise in marine outfitting, delivering a stylish and highly functional space that meets the needs of both passengers and crew.
